The LG Optimus G is going to be one of the devices that compete head-to-head against beasts like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3, HTC One X+, Motorola DROID RAZR Maxx HD and new Nexus.

Optimus G has a stunning display. It supports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS+ display with a 1280×768 resolution and 320 ppi pixel density, exactly the same resolution and pixels per inch we have on Nexus 4. On Optimus G colours may seem a bit washed out as compared to a Super AMOLED display, but IPS+ displays offer natural and realistic colours.

Optimus G has 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2 GB of RAM like Nexus 4, so anything you do in this device is going to be fast and with very high frames-per-second as compared to S3 and Note 2 processors, which we have already seen on benchmark tests of nexus 4.

Optimus G measures 131.9 height x 68.9 width x 8.5mm thick and it weighs 145 grams, so its heavier and thicker than s3 and htc one x.

The device does come with Android 4.0.4, which is simply unacceptable for a smartphone released during late 2012. We have no news on a Jelly Bean update, and LG is not exactly famous for rolling out updates in time. But may be in the future it will get android 4.1 because it is capable of handling it like nexus 4.

Downside of this phone is an absence of micro sd card slot in it,  which will restrict users to carry more things in a multimedia card,  but thnx to an on-board storage of this device which will give you 32gb internal memory. In memory atleast it is better than Lg Nexus 4.

Lg Optimus G has 8mp/13mp camera,  depends on which area of world you are living. On the front you will have a 1.3 mp which is offcourse not as good as we have seen on S3 and Note 2 camera. Both cameras are capable of taking 1080p videos @ 30fps which is a good sign.

Optimus G is powered by Li-Po 2100 mAh non removable battery which will give us up to 15hours talktime and 335 hrs standby time.

From the connectivity point of you this device takes Micro Sim and it has NFC, Bluetooth, Agps. Micro Usb port ver2.0 (MHL)  and Wifi which makes it connectivity more viable in mobile market.

In the end, i just want to say this device is looking good to compete with s3, note 2, htc one x+ and lg nexus 4. 13mp camera makes it more attractive among the users but, launching it with android 4.0.4  and the failure of sd card slot seems to me pretty unfair with this sort of  device
